IB Spanish B is a Group 2: Language Acquisition subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It explores five prescribed themes: Identities, Experiences, Human ingenuity, Social organisation, and Sharing the planet, with a strong focus on developing receptive (listening and reading), productive (writing), and interactive (speaking) language skills while fostering intercultural understanding through exploration of Spanish-speaking cultures.
The course is available at Standard Level (SL, 150 teaching hours) and Higher Level (HL, 240 teaching hours), with first assessment in 2020.
