IB Spanish A (Literature) is a Group 1 subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It explores Spanish literary texts across different genres, periods, and cultures, literary analysis techniques, comparative studies, and cultural contexts, with a strong focus on close textual analysis, critical thinking, interpretation of literary devices, and understanding the interaction between language, culture, and meaning in Spanish literature.
The course is available at Standard Level (SL, 150 teaching hours) and Higher Level (HL, 240 teaching hours), with first assessment in 2026.
