IB French B is a Group 2 subject in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). It explores five prescribed themes: Identities, Experiences, Human Ingenuity, Social Organisation, and Sharing the Planet, with a strong focus on developing communicative competence, intercultural understanding, and all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) in meaningful cultural contexts.
The course is available at Standard Level (SL, 150 teaching hours) and Higher Level (HL, 240 teaching hours), with first assessment in 2020.
